Wedding Bells

NO. I AM NOT GETTING MARRIED. (YET)

Last few days, one of my BFF just got engaged and hopefully we will hear bells ringing next year. And. another BFF suddenly announced that she is in a relationship and probably will be getting engaged next year. oww feeling left out here. And everyone is asking when is my turn?

It is not that I don’t want to get married just that it is not time yet. Having just finished my degree and having a stable job, getting married will be at the end of the list. As people said, marriage means settling down and I think I still have a lot of things to do.

Being in a steady sometimes with rough seas and calm waves relationship for almost 4 years now changed my perspectives in living together as husband and wife. I am very aware and understood in early relationship api percintaan tu membuak-buak and you want to be with your partner forever. You remember that feeling? Sometimes, it turns very fast and alas you think about getting married at that time. oh. it happens to me too.

But for us, we choose to wait. Wait until it is time to say we are ready. There is so much to do right now and we think marriage can wait. Financially and mentally we need preparation. Thus, more energy and time is needed. Biological clock ticking? Yes. I am aware of that. That is why in this few (hopefully 3 or 4 years) some few things can be settled. e.g: getting a nice home for us, securing our savings for future, re-paying our parents, and most importantly saving for our marriage. You see, we don’t plan to take any loans for our wedding as we don’t want a “loaned marriage” thus the need to save for our wedding. Wedding doesn’t come cheap and we are not earning 10k monthly.

So, be patient and enjoy your journey towards being Husband and Wife. =)

P/s: This entry is written because I received 4 wedding invitations from friends for September itself.
